Combine the shortbread layer and press in the bottom of an 8x8 parchment-covered pan
Bake in the oven for 12 minutes.
Take out of the oven and put in the fridge to let the bottom base completely cool
Caramel Layer
While this is cooling, combine your ingredients for the caramel layer in a small pot over medium heat, stirring (this allows all the ingredients to combine and caramelize)
Allow this to completely cool before spreading it on top of the shortbread layer
Place in the freezer for one hour
Chocolate Layer
After one hour, melt your chocolate mixture and pour it on top of the caramel layer
Optional: top with sea salt
Place back in the freezer for an hour
Cut up into bars, they can also be cut into smaller bite size pieces as well
Store in fridge
